A Half-Day Journey into the Heart of Kamakura
We held a Customized Half-Day Tour in Kamakura. This time, we welcomed guests from the United States as well as an American resident living in Japan. Together, we explored temples, enjoyed local cuisine, and experienced the unique places in Kamakura.
Engakuji Temple 〜One of Most Important Zen Temple in Japan
We began our journey at Engakuji Temple, entering through the impressive main gate and exploring the temple grounds. From the main hall to various scenic spots, we enjoyed the tranquil atmosphere and learned about the temple’s deep history and cultural significance.
Lunch Time: Real Japanese Cuisine
Afterwards, we took a short walk to a local restaurant, where we had the chance to enjoy authentic Japanese cuisine. The fresh flavors, traditional presentation, and warm hospitality made for a truly memorable lunch experience.
Komachi Dori Street 〜Main Shopping Street in Kamakura

Next, we strolled along Komachi Dori Street, a bustling shopping avenue lined with souvenir shops, food stalls, and specialty stores. Everyone enjoyed browsing, tasting, and discovering unique items. At one point, one of our guests expressed a wish to visit a dog café—so we made a spontaneous stop, adding a delightful surprise to the tour!
Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine 〜The Day of Annual Grand Festival
Our visit coincided with the annual grand festival at Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine. We were lucky enough to witness a lively procession with portable shrines (mikoshi) and sacred horses. The festive atmosphere and traditional rituals left a strong impression on everyone.
Local Sword Shop ~ Skills Passed Down Over 22 Generations
To finish this tour, we visited a local sword shop where we had the rare opportunity to listen directly to the craftsman. This swordsmith is from the 22nd generation.
Finished at Kamakura Station
We finished the tour at Kamakura Station. We were happy to welcome our guests on this tour and look forward to seeing them again in the future!
