We held a Customized Half-Day Tour with Local Guide in Kamakura. This time, we welcomed two wonderful guests from Ecuador!
Let’s take a look at how the day unfolded.
Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine — The Beginning of the Shogunate Era

We started our day at Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, one of Kamakura’s most iconic landmarks.
This shrine played a crucial role in the rise of the samurai government during the Kamakura period.
Matcha Ice Cream Shop — KAMAKURA CHACHA

We stopped by KAMAKURA CHACHA, a popular local shop famous for its matcha soft serve near Kamakura station(west exit).
We enjoyed delicious matcha ice cream and took a rest at Kamakura Station Old Station Clocktower.
We talked about our cultures in Ecuador and Japan. I didn’t know that Quito, the capital of Ecuador, is located at an elevation of 2850 meters! I really love moments of cultural exchange!

Kotoku-in Temple(The Great Buddha)

Next, we visited Kotoku-in Temple, home to Kamakura’s famous Great Buddha, built about 750 years ago in the 13th century.
The bronze statue, standing over 11 meters tall, has survived earthquakes and tsunamis, symbolizing the enduring spirit of Kamakura.
Our guests purified their hands before worship and stepped inside the Great Buddha — a truly memorable experience.

Hasedera Temple — Temple of Flowers and the Goddess of Mercy

We then visited Hasedera Temple, known for its serene gardens, sea views, and the majestic statue of Kannon, the Goddess of Mercy.
The peaceful atmosphere and seasonal flowers made it one of the highlights of the day.

Finished at Hase Station
