Our tour began at Katsura, a long-established kimono shop with 57 years of history, known for offering authentic, high-quality kimonos.
Mr. Mako Isonishi, the shop owner, kindly explained about the craftsmanship and cultural significance of kimono.

Our guests were deeply impressed and asked many thoughtful questions—it was a wonderful cultural exchange.

Komachi Street: Main Shopping Street in Kamakura

Next, we explored Komachi Street, Kamakura’s lively shopping avenue filled with local shops and traditional treats.
We picked up some daifuku (sweet rice cakes) to enjoy later with tea.

Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine — The Beginning of the Shogunate Era

We visited Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, one of Kamakura’s most iconic landmarks.
This shrine played a crucial role in the rise of the samurai government during the Kamakura period.


Drawing Omikuji — Japanese Fortune Slips

Our guests enjoyed exploring the grounds and even purchased omikuji (fortune slips) as a memory of their visit.


Kotoku-in Temple(The Great Buddha)

Our next stop was Kotoku-in Temple, home to Kamakura’s famous Great Buddha, which was built about 750 years ago during the 13th century.
The bronze statue stands over 11 meters tall and has survived earthquakes and tsunamis, symbolizing the enduring spirit of Kamakura.

Hase-dera Temple — Temple of Flowers and the Goddess of Mercy

We then visited Hase-dera Temple, known for its beautiful gardens, sea views, and the impressive statue of Kannon, the Goddess of Mercy.
The peaceful atmosphere and seasonal flowers made it a highlight of the tour.

Local Flower Basket Shop — Hanakago Ishihara

Along the way, we stopped by Hanakago Ishihara, a charming local shop specializing in handmade bamboo flower baskets.
The shop offers items crafted both locally and from around Japan.
Our guests found a lovely piece to take home as a souvenir.
